Drukpa Tibetan Adventure Tours is a brand new travel company established in 2008 by Wangden Tsering, a young Tibetan entrepreneur. Our company is based in the Amdo region of Tibet, in Xining, Qinghai. We are committed to providing a personal touch of customer service, Tibetan-style. Wangden and his all-Tibetan crew will make every effort to achieve the goals of this company, which are: First, to arrange authentic Tibetan tours, with trips ranging from cultural tours, to 4x4 Jeep tours, to horse trekking, to home-stay trips with famers and nomads, and photography trips, drawing Tibetans and tourist together through unique experiences, so that each understand the other more clearly after the trip. Second, our goals is not only to build a successful business, but to do business in a way on the Tibetan plateau that develops the local Tibetan economy. The tourism industry is one of the most important and beneficial businesses in Tibet, but unfortunately there are only few small companies are run by Tibetans. Most travel companies and tour operators in Tibet are run by Han Chinese or foreigners. Therefore, we set up this company to foster Tibetan entrepreneurship and to help local farming and nomadic communities to increase income as well. Finally, all employees of Drukpa Tibetan Adventure Tours are local Tibetans. We want the traveler to experience true Tibetan life and culture, and that can only come from the people themselves. We also do this to give young Tibetans an opportunity to earn fare wages and have a job of which they are proud, which is difficult in such a depressed local economy.

Our staff have worked in the tourism industry for many years and we understand what the foreign travelers is looking for. Our trips are custom tailored to the tastes and expectations of foreign travelers. Plus our all of our staff speaks at least three languages: Tibetan, English and Chinese. We believe that when you travel Tibet with us you will remember it for a lifetime. One final note, since we were born in this land and desire to see our culture and traditions last for generations to come, we try to arrange travel in the most economically friendly way possible So, please join us in minimizing the environmental and cultural impact we have when travelling.
